About Us

At Prairie Valley Lodge we are highly committed to providing quality care.

Prairie Valley Lodge

Prairie Valley Lodge was purposely built by our family in 1997 to all standards and codes required by Interior Health Authority. The business was sold in 2004 to a new owner. In the summer of 2007 the opportunity arose for our family to re-purchase the property. Since then we have been busy renewing and redecorating to once again provide a nurturing, family-style environment; in which our knowledgeable and caring staff can provide intensive supervision, safety and care.

Each private room enjoys a spacious 2-piece en-suite. The home has 2 large main bathrooms and all amenities are wheelchair accessible.

All meals, snacks, and beverages are home-made directly from our kitchen. All menus are approved by a registered dietician. Our produce is purchased fresh, locally, and meals can be adapted to suit individual client needs.

All housekeeping and laundry is included in the monthly fee.

Each day at Prairie Valley Lodge, we strive to exceed expectations

OUR STAFF AND OUR ROLES:
The working environment at Prairie Valley Lodge is very important to all who work here. We are a close knit team who laugh a lot, and enjoy each others company. The owners are part of this team, and are as familiar and as comfortable with all the tasks in the home as everyone else. Our teamwork means that we all “pitch in” and help where help is needed. Training and skill acquisition is important to us all, and every effort is made by management and staff to ensure that our skills and knowledge are updated and upgraded constantly. Medical support is provided in the facility by LPN’s or RN’s and of course the residents GP, who assist in the planning and implementation of each resident’s individual plan of care, which includes all activities of daily living, all social and recreational requirements on a daily basis, and discharge planning when necessary.

OUR LOCATION:
We are located in the beautiful sunny Okanagan in Summerland, famous for its orchards, vineyards, sandy beaches, and old world charm. We are within walking distance of downtown Summerland where you will find many shops, restaurants and galleries.

Summerland also offers a library, seniors drop-in centre, aquatic centre (offering re-cope, aqua sizes and many other senior programmes), a museum, and hosts a calendar of activities and festivals.

Most churches can organise a volunteer driver to get you to the service of your choice. And all health care professionals are easily accessed, with an excellent health centre and walk in clinic. Penticton is 18 kms, and Kelowna is 48 kms.
