OUR HISTORY - Care giving is in our blood.  We are three generations of care-givers. Two of the generations were born into residential care facilities in the UK.  Anne and Austin Lusted were the founders of this concept of care in the UK in 1974.  Their children, Lisa, David and John, were brought up in the care giving industry, and now, their children clearly have the welfare of others in their hearts.

The family emigrated to Canada in 1991. It was like “coming home”. There are many generations of Lusteds in this country as Great Grandfather Lusted immigrated from Canada back to the UK after the First World War.

It became clear very quickly that despite the large senior population here in the Okanagan the kind of care that we were familiar with in the UK had not been developed here.  So it followed, that we chose to do what we know best, to provide care for those that need it and Prairie Valley Lodge was created.
