Your loved ones are in the best care

We provide seniors who need 24 hour care with an alternative long term care solution to the larger institutional type facility. Our home is a “HouseHold Model of Care”. Set in a familiar home-like environment every resident is considered an individual personality. A high staff to resident ratio allows for dignity, respect, independent choices and fosters a positive social environment where isolation is minimized and residents can find enjoyment in life. Family input to the plan of care is encouraged. We are equipped with all the requirements to provide complex care – hospital beds, ceiling lifts, mechanical lifts, wheelchair accessible bathrooms etc.

Additional Features

lounges and dining room

We have a large multi-purpose room, (the Great Room), where we listen to music, visit with our friends and eat our meals.

Gardens

A creek runs along the back yard, providing a home for a heron, and a family of ducks. It is a peaceful oasis, where residents and their visitors can enjoy each others company. Our yard and the creek is completely fenced for resident’s safety. There is a secured, covered patio at the front of the building that provides the residents with protection from the sun and the freedom to transfer from inside the home to the patio area at will. Some residents choose to have breakfast or lunch served here in summer.

Activities/Transport

Prairie Valley Lodge arranges out-trips regularly, sometimes there may be a small charge for these depending on the activity. Transport can be arranged for personal appointments, and a care aid can accompany and attend an appointment if required.
